just the very present because I think that we've done that for quite a number
of years,
just looking at fixing problems when we should be looking at prevention and
looking at how
agriculture is going to look into the future.
There are candidates that are supportive of protecting soil as a natural
resource and
looking at the future of agriculture.
And for so many in Iowa, farming runs in the family.
Hey, Patch.
Let's go to it.
Come on.
Well, as a little kid, I've always rode around with my dad, so I mean, I guess
I've
always wanted to be a farmer.
Mike Holden is a third-generation farmer, now weathering the weight of being on
the
front lines during the pandemic.
My wife works in a hospital.
My daughter drove by her earlier, works in a hospital in Des Moines, commutes.
Her frontline people, I work seven days a week, virtually 365 days, but if I
don't come here,
they're not going to get fed.
But he's feeling the impact of how the farming industry has changed.
It's an interesting way of life that has really become more corporate.
And I've farmed for over 40 years now, and I'm not happy with the way farming
has become
the neighborly thing, the thing that you used to do because you wanted to help.
Sorry, I get emotional here.
You want to help, because that person needed your help.
This year, he chose to cast his ballot for Biden.
The money that the Trump administration then gave to farmers in Iowa to keep
them afloat
was welcomed, but not enough.
Yeah, it doesn't make up for the losses we had.
It certainly softens the blow.
I think it was bribery.
I'm going to buy your vote on the threes of money, and hopefully you'll keep
supporting
me.
And they do.
And I don't get it.
The bailouts, not enough for him to overlook what he views as failed leadership
and a lack
of civility in the White House.
I think he's dangerously reckless, he's brutally insensitive and disrespectful.
I mean, you can be tough without being a bully.
And we need badly need some civility in my opinion.
And Lindsey, most importantly, the farmers that I spoke with said no matter
what happens
on election day, they will still wake up early.
They will go to work.
They will do their jobs feeding the country.
Hi everyone, George Stephanopoulos here.
Thanks for checking out the ABC News YouTube channel.
If you'd like to get more video show, fuck up, George, I will watch the
Vietnamese one.
In fact, Vietnam, despite our horrific war crimes there.
And I was, I was shocked when I found out about this as well.
But in fact, about Vietnam, the most, the country that views the United States
of America
the most favorably is Vietnam.
Despite our actual war crimes there in our, in our genocidal efforts in the
region, you
know, fighting communism, of course, necessary, if you ask some people, still
having generational
impact with like children being born with disabilities to this day because of
Agent Orange.
Vietnam, despite all of that, has the best, most favorable opinion of the
United States
out of every country on the planet, Vietnamese people do.
I don't mean that like, I'm talking about Vietnamese people.
I don't know why I have no understanding of why it is.
Maybe it's because they see us, they see the United States as like a like a cud
gel against
China or something and they fucking really hate China.
But excuse me, I'm sorry.
They, they like the United States more than they, more than Israel in Israel as
the highest
favorability of the United States after Vietnam, if I'm not mistaken.
It is a remarkable fact that I was very confused by and very shocked by a very
weird, very
strange.
I really don't have any idea why our Vietnamese community is overwhelmingly
conservative.
We support President Donald Trump because as Vietnamese refugees, we have
endure suffering
under the Communist regime and we believe that, okay, fuck you, dude, I mean,
seriously,
fuck you, old lady, shut the fuck up.
You stupid fucking idiotic old lady with your stupid fucking gamer head said,
who is fucked
you harder America or fucking Ho Chi Minh suck my dick, old lady.
God damn, dude, you'll fuck this refugee, okay, seriously, fuck this South
Vietnamese mother
fucking whatever, like Christian supremacist psychotic fucking refugee living
in America
now and, and, and able to talk that shit, why don't you go back and live in
fucking South
Vietnam in the same conditions, if that's your perspective, be careful, be
careful.
No, I fucking hate these people, dude.
They're so insane, like they, they fucking beat in to the American propaganda
hook line
and sinker, like it's bullshit.
Well, the fuckers were self-immulating because of our, because of our actions
over in fucking
Vietnam and, and this lady's like, oh no, it's the communist, like fuck you.
And Trump is, definitely, he doesn't like socialism or communism, he's fight
for freedom
and democracy, he bring a lot of jobs back to America.
Shut the fuck up.
You feel happy, even though it's a lot of people say he's bad.
I think a lot of us, the majority of us, are really, it's not the same as Cuba.
It's not the same as Cuba.
It's way worse than Cuba, because at least America didn't like directly have
the same
kind of fucking immediate and horrific actions took immediate and horrific
actions in Cuba.
It was, it was Castro versus Batista, not America versus Vietnam or the fucking
North
Vietnamese.
So like, it's literally worse than that, okay?
I get Cubans being like, oh, I fucking hate like, you know, I hate communism,
whatever,
a fuck Castro, fuck Jay, all that stuff is whatever.
You have to tie it back to the United States to be like, oh, well, it was a
fascist puppet
dictator and like, he was favorable to America and that's why he was able to do
so much torment
to our people, whatever.
That's a secondary consequence.
It's not like, I mean, not for a lack of trying mind you, but it's not like
America went
in and like fucking did the shit that we did to Vietnam, specifically South
Vietnam, not
even North Vietnam.
I really like the song, the music.
It's a level of delusion that is like, on the fathomable.
My parents were victim of war.
So when the communist forces took over Vietnam, my dad were forced to live in a
jungle literally
for much of his childhood.
So anything that is a step up from that is something to be grateful for.
So the Vietnamese community grew in Oakland City back in the mid 70s.
So a lot of these refugees saw the bigger city.
There were jobs available here.
There were factories that they could work out that they didn't have to have a
good grasp
of the English language.
And so all they needed was just the determination to work hard and support
their family.
Coming from an undemocratic.
By the way, this is like low key to true as well.
I think, okay, correct me if I'm wrong.
I think this is another one of those like tidbit Oklahoma facts that I know in
the back of
my mind.
But I'm pretty sure under FDR, the internment camps were in Oklahoma, right?
So that's why there is the only like significant group of Asian population in
Oklahoma is Vietnamese
people that came in as refugees after Vietnam and every other fucking, every
other, by all
the Japanese people that were there or all the other Asian people left Oklahoma
never to
look back because of the internment camps there in most of the camps on the
west coast.
I thought they were also, I thought they were like big ones were built in
Oklahoma.
Maybe I'm wrong though.
In a democratic country with a dysfunctional democracy, America was the
pinnacle for what
a government should look like.
Yeah, so my dad is definitely a Republican.
He is a strong believer in America and American exceptionalism.
I had assumed he would be voting for Trump in the November election.
I decided I'm not going to let my dad, a decent loving man vote for Donald
Trump.
They went by around TikTok because a lot of kids my age were in the same
predicament
where their parents, you know, were going to vote for Trump, you know, half the
reason
that I'm a Democrat is because I want to protect and fight for my parents.
