[0:00] just the very present because I think that we've done that for quite a number [0:06] of years, [0:06] just looking at fixing problems when we should be looking at prevention and [0:13] looking at how [0:15] agriculture is going to look into the future. [0:18] There are candidates that are supportive of protecting soil as a natural [0:24] resource and [0:25] looking at the future of agriculture. [0:29] And for so many in Iowa, farming runs in the family. [0:32] Hey, Patch. [0:33] Let's go to it. [0:34] Come on. [0:35] Well, as a little kid, I've always rode around with my dad, so I mean, I guess [0:39] I've [0:39] always wanted to be a farmer. [0:41] Mike Holden is a third-generation farmer, now weathering the weight of being on [0:46] the [0:46] front lines during the pandemic. [0:48] My wife works in a hospital. [0:51] My daughter drove by her earlier, works in a hospital in Des Moines, commutes. [0:56] Her frontline people, I work seven days a week, virtually 365 days, but if I [1:03] don't come here, [1:05] they're not going to get fed. [1:07] But he's feeling the impact of how the farming industry has changed. [1:11] It's an interesting way of life that has really become more corporate. [1:16] And I've farmed for over 40 years now, and I'm not happy with the way farming [1:24] has become [1:25] the neighborly thing, the thing that you used to do because you wanted to help. [1:32] Sorry, I get emotional here. [1:37] You want to help, because that person needed your help. [1:42] This year, he chose to cast his ballot for Biden. [1:45] The money that the Trump administration then gave to farmers in Iowa to keep [1:50] them afloat [1:50] was welcomed, but not enough. [1:52] Yeah, it doesn't make up for the losses we had. [1:55] It certainly softens the blow. [1:57] I think it was bribery. [1:58] I'm going to buy your vote on the threes of money, and hopefully you'll keep [2:02] supporting [2:02] me. [2:03] And they do. [2:04] And I don't get it. [2:05] The bailouts, not enough for him to overlook what he views as failed leadership [2:09] and a lack [2:10] of civility in the White House. [2:12] I think he's dangerously reckless, he's brutally insensitive and disrespectful. [2:19] I mean, you can be tough without being a bully. [2:23] And we need badly need some civility in my opinion. [2:27] And Lindsey, most importantly, the farmers that I spoke with said no matter [2:30] what happens [2:30] on election day, they will still wake up early. [2:33] They will go to work. [2:34] They will do their jobs feeding the country. [2:38] Hi everyone, George Stephanopoulos here. [2:40] Thanks for checking out the ABC News YouTube channel. [2:42] If you'd like to get more video show, fuck up, George, I will watch the [2:46] Vietnamese one. [2:51] In fact, Vietnam, despite our horrific war crimes there. [2:57] And I was, I was shocked when I found out about this as well. [3:00] But in fact, about Vietnam, the most, the country that views the United States [3:06] of America [3:07] the most favorably is Vietnam. [3:12] Despite our actual war crimes there in our, in our genocidal efforts in the [3:19] region, you [3:20] know, fighting communism, of course, necessary, if you ask some people, still [3:25] having generational [3:26] impact with like children being born with disabilities to this day because of [3:31] Agent Orange. [3:34] Vietnam, despite all of that, has the best, most favorable opinion of the [3:40] United States [3:41] out of every country on the planet, Vietnamese people do. [3:48] I don't mean that like, I'm talking about Vietnamese people. [3:54] I don't know why I have no understanding of why it is. [3:58] Maybe it's because they see us, they see the United States as like a like a cud [4:01] gel against [4:02] China or something and they fucking really hate China. [4:07] But excuse me, I'm sorry. [4:10] They, they like the United States more than they, more than Israel in Israel as [4:17] the highest [4:18] favorability of the United States after Vietnam, if I'm not mistaken. [4:23] It is a remarkable fact that I was very confused by and very shocked by a very [4:29] weird, very [4:30] strange. [4:42] I really don't have any idea why our Vietnamese community is overwhelmingly [4:49] conservative. [4:50] We support President Donald Trump because as Vietnamese refugees, we have [5:08] endure suffering [5:09] under the Communist regime and we believe that, okay, fuck you, dude, I mean, [5:16] seriously, [5:17] fuck you, old lady, shut the fuck up. [5:19] You stupid fucking idiotic old lady with your stupid fucking gamer head said, [5:26] who is fucked [5:27] you harder America or fucking Ho Chi Minh suck my dick, old lady. [5:31] God damn, dude, you'll fuck this refugee, okay, seriously, fuck this South [5:37] Vietnamese mother [5:38] fucking whatever, like Christian supremacist psychotic fucking refugee living [5:44] in America [5:44] now and, and, and able to talk that shit, why don't you go back and live in [5:47] fucking South [5:48] Vietnam in the same conditions, if that's your perspective, be careful, be [5:54] careful. [5:55] No, I fucking hate these people, dude. [5:58] They're so insane, like they, they fucking beat in to the American propaganda [6:03] hook line [6:03] and sinker, like it's bullshit. [6:05] Well, the fuckers were self-immulating because of our, because of our actions [6:09] over in fucking [6:09] Vietnam and, and this lady's like, oh no, it's the communist, like fuck you. [6:14] And Trump is, definitely, he doesn't like socialism or communism, he's fight [6:21] for freedom [6:22] and democracy, he bring a lot of jobs back to America. [6:26] Shut the fuck up. [6:27] You feel happy, even though it's a lot of people say he's bad. [6:31] I think a lot of us, the majority of us, are really, it's not the same as Cuba. [6:41] It's not the same as Cuba. [6:44] It's way worse than Cuba, because at least America didn't like directly have [6:52] the same [6:53] kind of fucking immediate and horrific actions took immediate and horrific [6:58] actions in Cuba. [6:59] It was, it was Castro versus Batista, not America versus Vietnam or the fucking [7:04] North [7:05] Vietnamese. [7:06] So like, it's literally worse than that, okay? [7:10] I get Cubans being like, oh, I fucking hate like, you know, I hate communism, [7:15] whatever, [7:16] a fuck Castro, fuck Jay, all that stuff is whatever. [7:21] You have to tie it back to the United States to be like, oh, well, it was a [7:25] fascist puppet [7:25] dictator and like, he was favorable to America and that's why he was able to do [7:29] so much torment [7:30] to our people, whatever. [7:31] That's a secondary consequence. [7:33] It's not like, I mean, not for a lack of trying mind you, but it's not like [7:39] America went [7:39] in and like fucking did the shit that we did to Vietnam, specifically South [7:45] Vietnam, not [7:45] even North Vietnam. [7:47] I really like the song, the music. [7:52] It's a level of delusion that is like, on the fathomable. [7:56] My parents were victim of war. [7:59] So when the communist forces took over Vietnam, my dad were forced to live in a [8:06] jungle literally [8:08] for much of his childhood. [8:10] So anything that is a step up from that is something to be grateful for. [8:38] So the Vietnamese community grew in Oakland City back in the mid 70s. [8:47] So a lot of these refugees saw the bigger city. [8:51] There were jobs available here. [8:53] There were factories that they could work out that they didn't have to have a [8:55] good grasp [8:56] of the English language. [8:58] And so all they needed was just the determination to work hard and support [9:02] their family. [9:03] Coming from an undemocratic. [9:05] By the way, this is like low key to true as well. [9:08] I think, okay, correct me if I'm wrong. [9:10] I think this is another one of those like tidbit Oklahoma facts that I know in [9:13] the back of [9:14] my mind. [9:15] But I'm pretty sure under FDR, the internment camps were in Oklahoma, right? [9:21] So that's why there is the only like significant group of Asian population in [9:26] Oklahoma is Vietnamese [9:27] people that came in as refugees after Vietnam and every other fucking, every [9:34] other, by all [9:35] the Japanese people that were there or all the other Asian people left Oklahoma [9:41] never to [9:42] look back because of the internment camps there in most of the camps on the [9:49] west coast. [9:50] I thought they were also, I thought they were like big ones were built in [9:54] Oklahoma. [9:55] Maybe I'm wrong though. [9:57] In a democratic country with a dysfunctional democracy, America was the [10:03] pinnacle for what [10:05] a government should look like. [10:07] Yeah, so my dad is definitely a Republican. [10:11] He is a strong believer in America and American exceptionalism. [10:17] I had assumed he would be voting for Trump in the November election. [10:25] I decided I'm not going to let my dad, a decent loving man vote for Donald [10:46] Trump. [10:49] They went by around TikTok because a lot of kids my age were in the same [10:55] predicament [10:56] where their parents, you know, were going to vote for Trump, you know, half the [11:01] reason [11:01] that I'm a Democrat is because I want to protect and fight for my parents.
