IC–032 | Wants to Disband NATO Because Defense Industry Makes Money Transcript. Timestamps are stored-video seconds. [0:00] mental health care. That's the, I guess, the rational or the more selfish way. [0:06] Yeah, it's more like individualism. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There's a, there's an [0:10] argument to be made on, [0:11] on both ends. Yeah, funny, to me, there's your sales pitch for the people that [0:17] are new to socialism, [0:18] like socialism can be sold as individualism. It is. It is. It will be a massive [0:25] , we don't do this, [0:26] like, no, but that's like a very misunderstood element of Marxism in particular [0:31] . It's like, [0:31] Marxism is, of course, individualistic. Of course, there is individual [0:37] liberties in a [0:39] socialist mode of governance that you normally don't have. If we were to look [0:44] at [0:44] socialization and like countries that are closer towards socialism versus [0:48] further away from socialism, [0:51] who has more free time? A person that doesn't have to worry about, you know, [0:55] medical debt or a [0:56] person who does. I think this is a thing where you could be more. Who has more [0:58] freedom? Yeah, [0:59] with you. Who has more freedom? A person who can, yeah, maybe leave their job [1:03] and pursue a career [1:05] ambition and maybe even become a much more productive member of society because [1:10] their [1:10] health care is not tied to their employment. Yeah. That is true freedom. [1:16] Socialism is supposed to [1:17] unlock more time for people to regain autonomy. Socialists historically have [1:24] fought for this [1:25] before socialist movements, trade unionist movements, anarchist movements, [1:29] fought to establish a five day work week. People used to work seven days a week [1:34] . They had child [1:35] labor, right? These were real freedoms that people fought for sometimes died in [1:40] the process of fighting [1:41] for. And now we take it for granted. So socialism is freedom. Yeah, of course. [1:48] What's your most radical stance? My most radical stance, which we don't know [1:53] about. [1:53] There's so many. Give me one. There's so many. Everything I say people treat in [1:58] America, [1:58] everything I say people treat as radical, but I think even here. This is Dutch. [2:02] This is, I know, [2:02] but here this is the heart of NATO. I'm an anti-natal, for example. NATO is an [2:06] expression of American [2:07] imperialism. And I think that in order for Europe to regain sovereignty, which [2:11] is an absolute [2:12] necessity, especially with this growing wave of MAGA fascism and the [2:18] international fascist [2:19] movement taking the shape of MAGA weirdly enough. I don't know if you guys have [2:23] noticed that. [2:23] It's very strange phenomena. It's so weird. You got people wearing MAGA hats in [2:30] Europe that are [2:30] like far right nationalists. And I'm like, I don't think that's how it's [2:33] supposed to work. [2:34] No, no, it's like the paradox of it's Israel. You're like, you're like America [2:39] first. [2:39] Yeah, what do you mean you're America first? But you're like a European fascist [2:43] . How does that [2:43] work? It doesn't make any sense. But yeah, I say, you know, NATO is an [2:51] expression of American [2:53] imperialism. It's a big topic. What do we do with NATO? Yeah, like most of the [2:57] people are [2:59] pro NATO. And they don't understand the danger that's coming. I mean, it's [3:06] pretty obvious. I mean, [3:07] Trump is openly, you know, Trump is saying the quiet part out loud. And yet it [3:12] 's shocking to me [3:13] that European leadership is refusing to reckon with it. They got a little taste [3:20] of it with Greenland, [3:21] right? And it was really interesting because it highlighted it's it's kind of [3:25] bright spotlight [3:26] on that hypocrisy, right? One week prior to Trump coming out and saying we're [3:30] going to invade [3:30] Greenland, we're going to annex it militarily, and maybe even Canada. What did [3:34] he do? He deposed [3:35] Maduro, right? The head of a sovereign nation, Venezuela, brutal, despotic, [3:41] sure doesn't matter. [3:42] Still, it was totally illegal, right? Yeah, it was it was irrational. It was [3:48] irresponsible. It was [3:50] violent. And yet European leadership celebrated it. One week after that, he [3:55] said, I'm in a [3:56] militarily annex Greenland. And they said, Whoa, whoa, what do you mean? You [4:00] can't treat it. We're [4:01] we're NATO country. We're we're Europe. What do you mean? We're fearful of [4:05] Russian incursion. [4:07] Sure. And now we have to and now we have to to worry about American from our, [4:11] you know, [4:12] from our Western flag, what is going on? That is the danger of Trump. That is [4:17] not just a [4:18] danger of Trump. That's the danger of American imperialism. Trump is just the [4:22] last manifestation [4:23] of it, much more honest and much more vulgar. He's open to manifest. Yeah, yeah [4:27] . Yeah. So, [4:28] so that's what my point is. And and in order to fight back against that, in [4:34] order to fight [4:34] back against Trumpism, fascism, and American imperialism, Europe has to regain [4:38] its sovereignty. [4:40] But as long as they they maintain the American security contracts that are [4:46] beneficial for [4:47] certain industries, you know, you got Germany reindustrializing and and getting [4:51] involved in [4:52] the defense sector now in a more meaningful way. And that is obviously [4:56] beneficial for, [4:58] you know, certain kinds of capitalists. Should we leave NATO and the rest of [5:02] the countries or kick [5:03] USA out? I think there needs to be a separate political cooperative agreement [5:09] that focuses on [5:11] the interests of the European continent, rather than is used as an expression [5:16] of American dominance. [5:17] Next to the wars projection capabilities. I mean, if it were up to me, I would [5:21] disband NATO in its [5:22] entirety. Yes. What NATO did in the aftermath of World War II was obviously [5:27] purge the socialist [5:30] and communist sympathies from Western Europe and that they did so successfully. [5:34] They did it in my [5:34] country, Turkey as well. And and basically reassert, you know, Western [5:40] capitalism and the [5:41] dominance of capital in these countries. What NATO is doing now is American [5:46] izing Europe, [5:47] the demand for 5% of your GDP going back to the defense sector, some of which [5:53] will be spent on [5:54] American manufacturers. Yeah, some of which will be or all of it will be spent [5:58] on American [5:59] manufacturers or some of it will be spent on domestic industry. Let me tell you [6:03] , as a warning, [6:04] as an American, it's going to come from your healthcare. It's going to come [6:07] from your public [6:08] transit. Yeah, we know. Yeah, it's happening right now. It's going to come from [6:10] your social welfare. [6:11] So that is, that is America reasserting its dominance. That is America creating [6:17] opportunities [6:17] for capital. Because in order to to create an environment where you're spending [6:24] 5% of GDP on [6:25] defense, you have to do austerity. And when austerity kicks in, private [6:30] enterprise comes in and says, [6:31] Oh, we'll handle it from here. We'll take over from here. This is exactly what [6:36] happened in the [6:36] UK as well, from the Thatcherite neoliberal reforms that took place in the UK, [6:42] that that [6:43] also gave way to this new growth of a fascist movement, the discontented masses [6:49] , the angry masses, [6:50] then we're taken advantage of and reform and restore and all these other [6:59] fascist formations [7:00] came in and said, you're angry. Your trains are not running on time. You don't [7:04] have the same welfare [7:05] initiatives. You don't have the same industry here. And that's because Muslims [7:09] are coming. That's [7:09] because refugees are going into the country. It's the same here. Yeah. You know [7:13] , [7:13] you know, if you're builders and like the blonde guy, of course. Yeah. Yeah. [7:18] The Netherlands Trump. [7:19] Quite like. Yeah. Yeah. But gay, right? I think no, no, no, he's not our prime [7:25] prime [7:26] mistress. He says he's not. I don't know. I don't know anything. We don't know [7:32] either. I don't get [7:33] our anyway. Yeah. He's. He's. Yeah. He's exactly what I'm talking about. And it [7:37] 's so funny because [7:38] these are the exact same problems that everyone is experiencing. Maybe they're [7:44] further along the [7:45] way in America. Maybe we're closer to a fascist mode of governance than you [7:52] guys are. But then [7:53] you see the rise of AFD, the rise of the national front in France and reform in [7:59] the UK and Gert [8:01] Wilders in the Netherlands. And these guys are they they are taking advantage [8:08] of the [8:09] understandable enmity that a lot of people feel in redirecting that anger to, [8:15] you know, vulnerable [8:16] populations redirecting that anger to to people that that have the exact same [8:22] class interest. [8:23] Yeah. Because at the end of the day, a refugee or a second generation migrant, [8:29] they want to work. They want a roof over their heads. They want job stability. [8:33] They want a [8:33] better future for their children. That's identical to the rest of the [8:38] population that's been living [8:39] in the Netherlands for numerous generations. They have the same interest brings [8:43] us back to the [8:43] start of this conversation about the laws and exactly. And yet these people who [8:50] are servants of [8:51] capital, and I guess in a closer association, servants of American Empire, [8:57] right? People that [8:59] care about the interests of capital owners that don't care about the interests [9:05] of the masses [9:06] seek to divide the masses and actively do divide the masses. And if there is no [9:11] strong resistance [9:12] against that, that tries to keep everyone together and to explain to people [9:17] like, no, no, no, you [9:19] shouldn't be fighting amongst yourselves. It's not about left versus right, it [9:23] 's up versus down, [9:24] that those in positions of profound power are making you feel like your [9:30] neighbor is your enemy. [9:31] When your neighbor has the same exact interests as you, if we don't unite, and [9:37] if the liberal [9:37] politicians try to keep the established order together and are more predisposed [9:46] with fighting [9:46] their left blank, rather than the growth of fascism in their countries, fascism [9:51] is going to take over. [9:52] But your message to our countries here in the West, in the Western of Europe, [9:58] like, what would [9:59] you tell us? I think you, you got to stop eating Trump's dick. That's my [10:04] message. Yeah, like, [10:06] there are so many wonderful things in theory, that the post World War II design [10:15] was supposed to [10:16] create, you know, human rights and international order. And it created some [10:20] semblance of stability [10:22] early on. But of course, it was very quickly weaponized against America's [10:27] enemies. And still [10:29] weaponized against America's enemies to this day. And there's no accountability [10:34] for America, [10:35] my country, right? I think that that system needs to change. And we have to [10:40] abide by the first [10:42] principles that were established. That's number one. And number two, I think [10:46] European countries [10:48] need to rebuild sovereignty. Yeah. And that sovereignty is not going to come [10:52] from nationalist [10:53] parties and fascist parties and far right parties. They're lying. We saw this [10:58] with Maloney. Maloney [11:00] was very critical of America, very critical of NATO when she was running, right [11:05] ? And she came [11:05] from that fascist tradition. So of course, if anyone was was even remotely [11:10] familiar with Italian [11:12] fascism, they knew that that was lie. They knew that was bullshit, right? It [11:17] was. And now she is [11:19] a loyal servant of NATO and a loyal soldier for Donald Trump. Because what no [11:25] matter what [11:26] fascist express when they're running to seize power, ultimately, they will [11:31] still abide by [11:32] America's interests. Yeah. That's precisely what NATO had done in Italy, [11:36] ironically enough. [11:38] And that is part of the reason why I never thought that Maloney was going to be [11:42] against NATO at all. [11:44] And shouldn't it be like then, or do you mean like, stop eating the United [11:50] States dick? [11:51] Yeah. Anyway, like Trump or any kind of democratic. Trump is just the reason [11:57] why I use Trump is [11:57] because he's such a repulsive figure. And there's a lot of anger towards Donald [12:01] Trump in Europe, [12:02] even by liberals, that that might love, you know, being a vassal to America [12:09] otherwise. [12:10] It's our mark of it that calls in
